raising Latine voices to make change
The gap in achievement for Latine youth and families is multi-faceted and complex. Various stressors and systems affect our Latine kiddos. Advocacy and change around access is pivotal for the growth and development of the TPP community. Hunger, housing, immigration rights, and healthcare all impact the educational lives of our children. Therefore, The Park Place hosts workshops, events, and conversations around making changes for the betterment of Latine lives.
With our Advocacy Workshops, adults can gain skills and knowledge about topics affecting them and their families. We host several workshops a year, with special guests discussing school advocacy, Know Your Rights campaigns, housing systems, and various other topics.
Legacy is our legislative advocacy group. Youth, adults, and parents gather to impact change at the local and state level on topics that are important to the Latine community in Minneapolis.
